Delaware educators need not look far to find quality materials to teach about wetlands. A diverse variety of resources are available, covering everything from videos and hands-on learning kits to outreach programs and field trip experiences. Most of these programs are provided at no cost through the Aquatic Resources Education Center.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Aquatic Resources Education Center (AREC), located on the scenic Delaware Bay marshlands in the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area east of Smyrna, offers a wealth of wetland education materials for Delaware teachers. This includes wetland education materials, salt-marsh ecology field trips, school outreach programs on a variety of topics, youth fishing programs, schoolyard habitat workshops, the Adopt-a-Wetland Program, and various other programs of an aquatic education nature.
