DuPont Experimental Station
Intent to Renew a Hazardous Waste Storage Permit
Pursuant to 7 Del. C., Chapters 60 and 63 and Delaware’s Regulations Governing Hazardous Waste, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Section (SHWMS) has made a preliminary decision to renew the hazardous waste storage permit issued to the DuPont Experimental Station located at the intersection of Route 141 and Henry Clay Road in Wilmington, Delaware. For this renewal, DuPont is not requesting an increase in storage capacity.
DuPont conducts research and development operations at the Experimental Station. Laboratory generated wastes from on-site, in addition to hazardous wastes generated by DuPont and its affiliates from off-site locations are stored prior to incineration. This permit is strictly limited to the on-site storage operations. The incinerator operations are regulated under a separate Title V permit issued by the Department’s Division of Air Quality.
