DNREC-Site Investigation and Restoration Section (DNREC-SIRS)
FINAL PLAN OF REMEDIAL ACTION FOR THE
FORMER TIMKO BROTHERS’ LANDFILL SITE (DE-0055)
The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Former Timko Brothers’ Landfill Site located in Wilmington. The Site, once used as a landfill for the disposal of construction debris, inert materials, and residential waste, including furniture and refrigerators, requires the removal and disposal of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) impacted soils, and the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting property use to non-residential, limiting groundwater withdrawal, and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP).
DNREC issued public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Former Timko Brothers’ Landfill Site on December 5, 2018. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available at the office of DNREC-SIRS (391 Lukens Drive, New Castle, DE, 19720), or online at: http://www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
