LEGAL NOTICE DNREC, Office of the Secretary October 2, 2009 Coastal Zone Act Permit Application Re: Wandendale Regional Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Facility The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) has received an application for a Coastal Zone Act Permit from Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc. Tidewater is seeking a permit to construct and operate a regional wastewater treatment and disposal facility on four parcels in the vicinity of State Route 24 and Camp Arrowhead Road, south of Love Creek in Sussex County, Delaware; three of the four parcels are in the Coastal Zone. The privately-owned facility will have the capacity, after complete build out, to treat three million gallons per day of residential/domestic wastewater. The wastewater will be treated using membrane bio-reactor treatment technology with rapid infiltration basins and spray irrigation to recharge the aquifer. The application is presently under review at the DNREC. The public may review this application at the Hockessin, Wilmington, Delaware City, or Georgetown public libraries, as well as the DNREC office at 89 Kings Highway in Dover or the office at 715 Grantham Lane in New Castle. If and when this application is deemed to be preliminarily, administratively complete and ready for a public hearing, there will be a second legal notice announcing the hearing arrangements.
