Advisory Council on Tidal Finfisheries to Meet May 21 in Dover
The Advisory Council on Tidal Finfisheries will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control auditorium, Richardson and Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover.
The agenda will include the following items:
- Briefing on changes in generating recreational catch statistics and use of a number concept to help create a marine recreational registry
- Summary of commercial and recreational landings in 2007
- Update on recent Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission meeting, including proposed management measures for American eel and status of a black drum fisheries management plan
- Update on new federal shark regulations as noted in federal registry
- Update on first meeting of Advisory Council on Recreational Fishing Funding; discussion of Cape Henlopen pier closure, ownership and funding
- Agenda for next meeting June 18
