Arts in Cape Henlopen State Park with Danielle Chavez
LEWES (Aug. 10,2011) – The public is invited to tap into their inner artist and discover new ways to connect to nature at Cape Henlopen State Park on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 3 to 6 pm. in the Seaside Nature Center.
Local artist Danielle Chavez will demonstrate how she captures the landscape of Cape Henlopen. Visitors will see the images develop on the canvas and will have the opportunity to ask questions and experience nature from a new perspective. This is a free program; however, park entrance fees are in effect.
The program is made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
Visitors to the Nature Center can also get news of the latest bird sightings, a view of the Osprey Cam, a look at creatures contained in the five 1,000-gallon aquariums or other exciting features in the park. The Nature Center is open daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cape Henlopen State Park is located at 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive in Lewes, one mile from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. Signs will direct visitors to the Nature Center.
