Bear man charged with weapons, hunting violations
BEAR (April 18, 2013) – A Bear man was arrested and charged with game and firearm violations after DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcements found he had a past felony conviction that prohibited him from possessing deadly weapons.
Isaac F. Davis, 42, of Bear, was charged on April 14 with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited and possession of illegally taken game (antlered deer) in connection with a November 2012 hunting incident. Under a search warrant, weapons were seized as evidence. Davis was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 in New Castle and released on $600 unsecured bond pending trial in Delaware Superior Court.
“Under Delaware law, persons with a past felony conviction are prohibited from possessing deadly weapons – including both firearms and bows or crossbows,” said Sgt. Gregory Rhodes of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.
DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Section works to achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety. Citizens are encouraged to report fish and wildlife and boating violations to the Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Section by calling 302-739-4580.
