Bellevue State Park Announces Grand Opening of the
Beautiful View Garden for Children, Plants and Animals
WILMINGTON, Del. – The staff at Bellevue State Park invites the public to the grand opening of the unique Beautiful View Garden for Children, Plants and Animals Saturday, Oct. 25. The celebration will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The garden is a playground, a children’s garden of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, and a backyard wildlife habitat. It features a garden shed, a wildlife observatory and Children’s Bellevue.
Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes and join in a Halloween parade. Families will enjoy nature crafts and entertainment, and children will receive a gift for the birds in their own backyard.
The opening, sponsored by ING DIRECT and the Fun Department, is free with paid admission to the park. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 26.
The park staff is looking for individuals interested in helping with the garden. Volunteers can be part of this initiative to provide an inspiring space where children can connect with nature.
“Helping to create and maintain this new garden is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers of all ages,” said Bellevue Volunteer Coordinator Denise Magnani.
