Body Recovered from Ingram Pond Identified as Millsboro Man
The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Enforcement Section today released the name of the man whose body was pulled from Ingram Pond near Millsboro on March 7. According to Enforcement spokesman Sgt. Gregory Rhodes, the victim has been identified as Dashawnta E. Tingle, age 27, of Millsboro.
Tingle was one of two people who paddled a canoe out on the state-owned pond the afternoon of March 5. Neither was wearing a life jacket, according to witnesses.
Witnesses saw the canoe capsize and both occupants were thrown into the 50-degree water. The other passenger swam to the shore, while witnesses saw Tingle disappear from view and called 911.
Fish and Wildlife Enforcement, Delaware State Police and fire company rescue teams from Millsboro, Seaford, Blades, Roxana, Laurel, Selbyville and Sharptown, Md., responded to search for the victim.
The body was recovered by the Sharptown Fire Company at 3:42 p.m. Friday and turned over to the medical examiner’s office. Autopsy results are pending.
