Brandywine Creek State Park Issues Call for Volunteers

Wilmington, Del. – Brandywine Creek State Park’s 18th Annual Haunted Trail is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.  This very popular event requires a great deal of preparation and park staff relies heavily upon volunteers to help with the work.

Behind-the-scenes volunteers are needed for set up beginning Oct. 19 through Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. until dusk.  Volunteers who are interested in dressing in costume and staffing one of the scary scenarios must be at least 16 years old and have attended training meetings (dates and times to be announced).

The event hours are 7 – 10 p.m. each night but volunteers manning the trail will need to report at 5 p.m. and may need to stay as late as midnight.  All necessary supplies will be provided by the park staff, and trail volunteers will be fed.

All interested parties are asked to contact the park at 302-655-5740 for more information.  Brandywine Creek State Park is located three miles north of Wilmington at the intersection of Delaware Routes 100 and 92. The entrance is on Adams Dam Road.
