Cape Henlopen State Park to host
nature programs for children on Dec. 28 and 29
LEWES (Dec. 27, 2011) – Cape Henlopen State Park is offering Winter Wonderland: Vacation Programs from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 28 and 29 at the Seaside Nature Center. These programs are fun and educational and will help 6- to 9-year-olds stay active during winter break.
On Wednesday, Dec. 28, children will have the chance to get hot on the heels of local wildlife during Wildlife Tracking. On Thursday, Dec. 29, children’s nature skills will be challenged during Animal Winter Olympics! Both programs will include hands-on activities, nature exploration and crafts.
Each two-hour program costs $6 per child. Parents should bring their children to the Seaside Nature Center and have them dressed to go outside. Information and registration are available by calling 302-645-6852. Pre-registration is required.
The Seaside Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Its many exhibits and displays include five 1,000-gallon tanks with local fish species, a touch tank and exhibits that explain the different habitats found within the park.
