Cape Henlopen State Park’s 50th
continues with more special events
LEWES (July 7, 2014) – As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Cape Henlopen State Park will host several guest speakers at the Seaside Nature Center to discuss some of the important historical events that have happened within the park.
The first in the series will be on Friday, July 11, at 7 p.m., when U.S. Navy (retired) Captain William Manthorpe, will present “The Navy at Cape Henlopen,” a review of the U.S. Naval presence within the Cape Henlopen region. Afterward, Capt. Manthorpe will sign copies of his newly released book, A Century of Service: The U.S. Navy on Cape Henlopen, 1898-1996.

The Seaside Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Borrow-A-Bike program is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Park entrance fees are in effect.
