Cape Henlopen State Park hosts outdoor programs in January
LEWES (Jan. 13) - Families and individuals are invited to get out and get active in the park this winter with “Singing, Shifting Sands” on Saturday, Jan. 15 and “Geocache Treasure Hunt” on Saturday, Jan.22.
On Jan. 15, visitors will walk among the Walking Dunes to find out how sand “sings.” They will also learn what makes up sand and how it shifts and moves. The program costs $2 per person.
On Jan. 22, visitors will use GPS units to search for buried “treasure” and historic relics and try to unravel secrets about the park’s historic past. The program is suitable for adults and children ages 7 and up, accompanied by a parent. Cost is $3 per person.
Both programs begin at 11 a.m. at the Seaside Nature Center. Participants should dress for the weather. Pre-registration is required; call 302-645-6852.
