Celebrate the fourth annual Fall Festival at Killens Pond State Park
Originally scheduled for October 17, 2009, the Fourth Annual Killens Pond Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the park on Killens Pond Road in Felton.
Activities for the day include hayrides, food and drink, arts and crafts, live performances, a petting zoo, a straw maze, demonstrations and much more. Costumes are welcome and encouraged. Vendors will also be handing out candy for trick-or-treating, so don’t forget your buckets!
Children and parents alike will also enjoy building their own scarecrow. For just $5 per person, the Friends of Killens Pond will provide straw, twine, bamboo for poles, clothes and hats. Gloves, scarves or other decorations will make each scarecrow unique.
The Fall Festival is a fun day of festivities and celebration of the autumn season. Admission to the festival is $3 per person for residents and non-residents, and includes the park entrance fee.
Killens Pond State Park is centrally located in the heart of Kent County. The park's centerpiece is its 66-acre millpond which features boating and fishing. Only about a 1½ hour drive from either the northern or southern boundary, Killens Pond makes a perfect home base for exploring the First State. Open year-round, the park's campground and cozy cabins are popular retreats no matter what the season.
The public is invited to call 302-284-4299 or visit www.destateparks.com for more information.
