   Coastal Landscaping and Dune
      Management Workshop for
      Homeowners Set for May 15

Homeowners from Delaware’s coastal areas are invited to attend a free workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 15 on coastal landscaping and dune management for their properties. The workshop will be held at the Bethany Beach Fire Company, 215 Hollywood Street, Bethany Beach.

The workshop was developed to educate homeowners on the ways to manage, maintain and landscape sand dunes and coastal areas using native plants and other natural materials. In addition, information on the ways to control invasive plant species, the challenges of coastal landscaping and the importance of managing coastal dunes will be presented. 

Workshop speakers include: Tony Pratt, DNREC’s Shoreline and Waterway Management Section; Wendy Carey, Delaware Sea Grant College Program; Rob Line, DNREC’s Environmental Stewardship Program; and Tracy Wootten, University of Delaware Cooperative Extension Program.
