DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site to close for maintenance Sept. 13-17
DNREC’s DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site will close from Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, for maintenance activities. The site will return to its regular schedule on Saturday, Sept. 18. The site is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.
New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the DART Mid-County site is closed can take yard waste to several other alternatives. A list of these alternatives, including DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site near Newark, can be found at www.dnrec.delaware.gov/yardwaste.
DNREC’s Community Yard Waste Demonstration Sites business hours:
Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about a ½ mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.
DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site

The site is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear. (Turn into the DART facility at 1423 S. Dupont Highway, Bear.)
Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at the sites.
