DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Site
to close for maintenance April 28-May 6

DNREC’s DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site will close for a week, from Wednesday, April 28 through Thursday, May 6, for maintenance activities. It will reopen on Friday, May 7. The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.

New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the DART site is closed can take yard waste to one of DNREC’s other two sites – the Brandywine Hundred site located north of Wilmington or the Polly Drummond Hill site near Pike Creek.

DNREC’s Community Yard Waste Demonstration Sites business hours:

Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Hours: Daily 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about a ½ mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.

Brandywine Hundred Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the north side of Cauffiel Parkway, approximately 100 yards east of the Cauffiel Parkway and Philadelphia Pike (Business Route 13) intersection.

DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Closed Wednesday, April 28 through Thursday, May 6; reopens Friday, May 7 at 8:30 a.m.
Hours: Daily 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear. (Turn into the DART facility at 1423 S. Dupont Hwy, Bear.)

Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at the sites.
