                                 DART Yard Waste Site near Bear
                           Will Close June 22 - 30 for Maintenance
                                                                     Site Reopens July 1

DNREC’s DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site will close Monday, June 22 through Tuesday, June 30 for maintenance activities. The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.

The site will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1.

New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the DART Mid-County site is closed can take yard waste to one of DNREC’s other two sites – the Brandywine Hundred site located north of Wilmington or the Polly Drummond Hill site near Newark.

DNREC’s Community Yard Waste Demonstration Sites Business Hours:

DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Closed Monday, June 22 through Tuesday, June 30; Reopens Wednesday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m.
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear. (Turn into the DART facility at 1423 S. Dupont Hwy, Bear.)

Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about a ½ mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.

Brandywine Hundred Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the north side of Cauffiel Parkway, approximately 100 yards east of the Cauffiel Parkway and Philadelphia Pike (Business Route 13) intersection.

DNREC’s three community yard waste demonstration sites were developed as one of many yard waste management options to help New Castle County residents comply with the yard waste ban. Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at these sites.
