DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill yard waste drop-off site open today, July 16, through Sunday, July 19; Site will close for maintenance July 20 - 24
DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill yard waste drop-off site is open today, July 16, and will remain open through Sunday, July 19. The site will temporarily close Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for maintenance activities and will reopen 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25.
The Polly Drummond Hill site was originally scheduled to close July 13 - 17 for crews at the site to grind yard waste into mulch; however, equipment problems have forced these maintenance activities to be postponed until July 20 – 24. We apologize for any inconvenience to our patrons.
Polly Drummond Hill Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Open Thursday, July 16 through Sunday, July 19; Closed Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24; Reopening Saturday, July 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Regular hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located in the Pike Creek area on Polly Drummond Hill Road, about a ½ mile north of the Kirkwood Highway.
New Castle County residents wishing to drop off yard waste when the Polly Drummond Hill site is closed can take yard waste to another DNREC site.
DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Hours: Daily; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear. (Turn into the DART facility at 1423 S. Dupont Hwy, Bear.)
Brandywine Hundred Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
The site is located on the north side of Cauffiel Parkway, approximately 100 yards east of the Cauffiel Parkway and Philadelphia Pike (Business Route 13) intersection.
DNREC’s three community yard waste demonstration sites were developed as one of many yard waste management options to help New Castle County residents comply with the yard waste ban. Commercial businesses, such as landscaping and lawn care companies as well as municipalities, are not eligible to drop off materials at these sites.
