Are you AWARE?
For this week’s Are You Aware reminder, the Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Section would like to remind hunters that there are plenty of dates left in the season to harvest deer.
Archery and crossbow season continue from now through Jan. 31, 2012 statewide. Hunters may use archery and crossbow equipment during muzzleloader, shotgun and handgun seasons provided that they wear at least 400 square inches of hunter orange material on the head, chest and neck.
Upcoming shotgun season dates are Nov. 11-19 and Jan. 14-21. Muzzleloaders may be used during shotgun season and may be equipped with scopes. Muzzleloader season runs Jan. 23-28. Other upcoming season dates are special antlerless season, Dec. 10-17, and handgun season, Jan. 7-14. The December antlerless season allows taking only antlerless deer by “any method,” to include archery, muzzleloader and shotgun.
