DNREC Natural Resources Police arrest two Maryland residents
on drug, weapons charges
at Bowers Beach
 

BOWERS BEACH (June 7, 2016) DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police arrested two Maryland residents June 2 on multiple criminal charges including drug and weapon possession in connection with an incident inside a parked car at the Bowers Beach Boat Ramp parking lot.

Cory Warner, 26, of Denton, Md., was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm within 10 years of a prior conviction, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of heroin, carrying a concealed deadly instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia. After a medical checkup, Warner was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown in lieu of $46,500 secured bond, pending a court appearance at a later date.

Amanda J. Husfelt, 29, of Henderson, Md., was charged with hindering prosecution, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Husfelt was taken to Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover, arraigned and released on $1,500 unsecured bond pending a court appearance at a later date.

A loaded .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, heroin and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle and seized as evidence.
