DNREC reopens public comment period on proposed amendments to regulations for on-site wastewater treatment and disposal systems
DOVER, Del. (Oct. 1, 2012) – DNREC’s Division of Water announced today the reopening of the public comment period for the proposed amendments to regulations for on-site wastewater treatment and disposal systems, which include spray irrigation facilities and residential and community septic systems. The comment period is open through 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
Written comments will be accepted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to: DNREC, Division of Water – GDS, Attn: Jack Hayes, 89 Kings Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
The proposed amendments have been updated to thoroughly address the comments from the public hearing held May 3rd. The reopening of the comment period allows for additional public comment on the proposed revisions.
The proposed amendments include: expanding the requirements for large on-site systems; spray irrigation and rapid infiltration basins; and new licensing requirements.
