DNREC seeking bids to harvest timber
in Midlands Wildlife Area near Millsboro
FRANKFORD (Dec. 13, 2012) – DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife is accepting bids to harvest pulpwood located in multiple stands on 611 acres of the Midlands Wildlife Area west of Millsboro. These stands of planted pine trees need to be thinned to encourage better growth of the remaining trees and to allow more sunlight to reach shrubs and herbs beneficial to wildlife.
Sealed bids must be received by 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Redden State Forest Office, 18074 Redden State Forest Drive, Georgetown, DE 19947.
Maps of the pulpwood stands are included in the bid package, which is available at http://www.bids.delaware.gov, or from the Assawoman Wildlife Area office, 37604 Mulberry Landing Road, Frankford, or call the office at 302-539-3160.
