DNREC’s Polly Drummond Hill Road Yard Waste Site
to close Nov. 18-20 for entrance road upgrade

DOVER (Nov. 5, 2014)  – The DNREC yard waste site located on Polly Drummond Hill Road in Newark (in the White Clay Creek State Park, across from the Judge Morris Estate) will be closed from Tuesday, Nov. 18 through Thursday, Nov. 20 for an upgrading of the site’s entrance road. The site will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov 21. After work on the entrance road is complete, the Polly Drummond Hill Road Yard Waste Demonstration Site will resume regular daily hours of 8 a.m. ‘til sunset, unless otherwise posted.

Delaware residents wishing to drop off yard waste generated on their own property while the Polly Drummond Hill Road site is closed can do so for no fee at either of these two drop-off sites: 

·         South Chapel Yard Waste Site (operated by Holland Mulch)

Hours 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to Noon Saturday

Location: 1034 South Chapel Street (Route 72), Newark, DE 19702 

·         Holland Mulch, Inc.

Hours:  7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to Noon Saturday

Location: 135 Hay Road, Edgemoor, DE 19809
