DNREC showcases energy savings programs for residents and businesses, state parks at the Great Green Expo on March 20; DNREC offers students free expo admission and a $2-off coupon for regular admission
Energy savings and efficiency programs for Delaware residents and businesses and the beauty and amenities of Delaware State Parks will be showcased 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at the Great Green Expo at the Chase Center in Wilmington.
Secretary Collin O’Mara will give welcoming remarks at 11 a.m. and detail the state’s energy savings, green initiatives and environmental programs that help Delaware residents and businesses.
At the Expo, DNREC’s Delaware Energy Office and the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility’s (SEU) Energize Delaware are teaming up in an exhibit that includes the latest information, programs and solutions to help Delawareans save energy and money.
So that attendees can take advantage of energy savings opportunities at the Expo, the Delaware Energy Office and the SEU developed an energy audit survey as part of the program. The survey will be published as an insert in the state’s Community News publications on Sunday, March 14. Delaware residents and businesses, that complete the survey and bring it to the expo will be connected with industry professionals for the latest energy-saving ideas, products and services.
According to Scott Lynch, program planner with DNREC’s Delaware Energy Office, students from pre-kindergarten through college can receive free expo admission by showing student identification, if available.
“The expo is a wonderful opportunity for students to see the latest in green technologies. The Delaware Energy Office is offering free admission to encourage young people to attend and learn more about green activities and programs.”
DNREC is also pleased to offer reduced regular admission – a printable $2-off coupon from the regular admission of $7. The coupon can be downloaded by clicking here.
The Delaware State Parks exhibit will highlight our state’s 16 state parks – and the exceptional beaches, trails, ponds, forests, fields, nature centers and programs available for people of all ages. From Fox Point State Park near Wilmington to the Heritage Park in Dover to Fenwick Island State Park, Delaware State Parks feature the state’s diverse natural, historic and cultural resources – some of the finest Delaware has to offer.
“We’re saving a place for you at a Delaware State Park,” said Marketing Director Dawn Morris. “We invite people to visit us at the Great Green Expo to learn more about the affordable, family-friendly events and activities available year-round at our beautiful state parks.”
