Delaware Hunting and Trapping Guide available now online,
with print edition due out next week
DOVER (July 14, 2011) – This year, the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife is celebrating its 100th anniversary by reflecting on the past and moving into the future. To help mark the occasion, the Division has produced a special full-color 100th anniversary edition of the long-standing Delaware Hunting and Trapping Guide for 2011-2012.
Inside the glossy magazine-style cover, hunters and trappers will find all the usual information – hunter education, licensing, hunting and trapping seasons, limits, regulations, wildlife area information and more, with sections devoted to deer, small game, turkey and migratory birds – all presented with fresh new graphics and easy-to-read type. Interspersed throughout are historic hunting-related photos and a timeline of milestones from the Division’s first 100 years.
“The publication has a much different look than guides in the past,” said Wildlife Section Administrator Greg Moore. “Our hunters and trappers have been the Section’s backbone of support over the last century. This guide is for them and we hope they like the new design.”
“An added bonus this year is that advertising paid for the entire cost of production,” said Program Manager Ken Reynolds. “This saved a significant amount of money from our license fund that can now be used for other projects.”
The guide is now available online at www.dnrec.delaware.gov/fw/Hunting. Distribution of the print edition to license dealers and stores is expected to begin the week of July 18.
