Delaware State Parks launches SummerSun at campgrounds

DOVER (July 7, 2011) – The Division of Parks and Recreation has announced SummerSun, a new campground program at state park campgrounds throughout Delaware. Campers who stay for a minimum of two weekday nights will receive coupons for a free two-hour boat rental at select state parks, and either free entrance to the Killens Pond Water Park or ferry tickets to Fort Delaware State Park.

The promotion applies to stays Monday through Thursday at Trap Pond in Laurel, Del.; Killens Pond in Felton, Del.; or Lums Pond in Bear, Del. All of the campgrounds provide drinking water outlets, modern shower and sanitary facilities, and sewage dumping stations. Campsites are equipped with a picnic table and may include a fire ring. Many have electric and water hookups.
