Delaware Clean Water Advisory Council to Hold Wastewater Treatment Workshop on March 19 in Rehoboth Beach

The Delaware Clean Water Advisory Council (CWAC) will hold a workshop on wastewater treatment and disposal alternatives for the Inland Bays Watershed from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at the City of Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth Beach. 

            The workshop is designed to educate Council members and the public about the need for systematic elimination of the City of Rehoboth Beach’s wastewater treatment plant outfall, options available for alternative disposal methods and the environmental issues and economic realities of the various alternatives.

            The workshop will include presentations by Environmental Scientist Jennifer Volk of the DNREC Watershed Assessment Section, Sussex County and Rehoboth Beach officials, Artesian Water and Tidewater Environmental Systems. Also on the agenda will be a panel discussion with representatives from Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, the Center for the Inland Bays, DNREC and CWAC. 

            At its April meeting, the Council plans to make recommendations based upon the information presented at this workshop.
