Discover Fort Miles and Battery 519 in Cape Henlopen State Park
LEWES (March 8, 2013) –On Saturday, March 16, the Fort Miles Historic Area will be the site for tours of Battery 519, part of the WWII coastal defense fortification at Fort Miles in Cape Henlopen State Park.. Tours will be held at 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Miles Orientation Building.
Visitors will learn about Delaware’s role in World War II, and about the fort that helped defend Delaware’s coast. Tours cost $5 per person. Fees are accepted in cash at the door.
