Statewide Dog Control Services
Available 24 Hours, Seven Days a Week
To assist the Kent County SPCA in cutting costs, the shelter will be closing to the public for adoptions and owner turn-ins on Tuesdays beginning today. However, its statewide Dog Control services, under contract with DNREC, will remain in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Dog Control’s duties include receiving cruelty complaints, picking up strays, investigating animal bite cases, responding to reports of trapped or injured animals, and returning pets to owners. These activities are unaffected by the change in hours at the Kent County SPCA’s shelter in Camden.
For Animal Control services, please call 302-698-3006 in Kent County and press 1. For New Castle and Sussex counties, please call toll-free 888-352-7722 and press 1.
