Dover man arrested for commercial fishing violations

Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Sept. 29 arrested a Dover waterman for violations on his commercial license.

Ronald W. Sayers, age 40, of 10320 Bayside Drive, Dover, was arrested and charged with six counts of possession of horseshoe crabs taken without a valid dredge license and one count each of possession of untagged oysters and violating his commercial license.

Sayers was taken to Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover, where he pled guilty to all charges. He was fined $897 and released.

Citizens are encouraged to report fish and wildlife violations to the Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Section at 302-739-4580.
