Early Spring Programs at
ape Henlopen State Park
LEWES (April 2, 2014) – Preschoolers, parents and anyone else who may be interested are invited to Cape Henlopen State Park for early spring fun on Thursday, April 10 and Saturday, April 12.
On April 10 at 10:30 a.m., three-to-five-year-olds will have fun learning about nature through stories, games, crafts and outdoor adventures in the monthly Guppy Club program. The topic for April is Digging Dirt. Preschoolers will learn why plants and animals need dirt and how they use it to live. The program costs $3 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult and dressed for the weather.
On April 12 at 4 p.m., visitors can watch for deer and fox scampering through the park and find out what they are up to when the sun is low. This free program is intended for ages five and up with an adult.
Space is limited for both programs; pre-registration is required by calling 302-645-6852. The Seaside Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Borrow-A-Bike program is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. Park entrance fees are in effect.
