Family Wetlands Hike at the Port Penn Interpretive Center

DELAWARE CITY (Aug. 17, 2012) – ThePort Penn Interpretive Center will host a fun family program on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 2 p.m.  Children, adults and families can join a park naturalist on an exciting wetlands scavenger hunt.  Participants will search for furry and feathered creatures, fish, insects and much more along the marshland trail in Port Penn. 

After the program, visitors may tour the Port Penn Interpretive Center and its exhibits that present the story of life in the historic wetland communities along the shores of the Delaware River. Participants should be sure to dress for the weather and bring lots of insect repellant. The program and admission to the center are free of charge and suitable for all ages. 

The Port Penn Interpretive Center is located four miles south of Delaware City on Route 9. More information is available by calling the Fort Delaware State Park Office at 302- 834-7941, or visiting
