First State Heritage Park’s Popular Lantern Tours of Christ Church Cemetery Return on April 24 and May 8
DOVER, Del. – On Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m., the First State Heritage Park opens another season of lantern tours with the popular and unusual Christ Church Cemetery tour, presented in cooperation with Christ Episcopal Church. The tour will be repeated on Friday, May 8.
Visitors will encounter characters from the past and hear not only tales of the tombstones, but also tales of joy and sorrow from those who are laid to rest within the walls of the churchyard. Participants should be prepared for a surprise or two!
The tour begins at 8 p.m. on the grounds of Christ Church, located at the corner of S. State and Water Street. The program fee is $5. Tour space is limited; reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 302-739-9194.
