Fish and Wildlife agents find marijuana growing in cornfield 

TOWNSEND (Sept. 21, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Sept. 19 were monitoring marijuana being grown in a privately owned cornfield adjacent to the Rocks Tract of the Cedar Swamp Wildlife Area near Townsend when a farmer working the crops harvested the standing corn and mowed down the marijuana in the process.

Twenty marijuana plants approximately 4 to 5 feet high were found growing between the rows of corn. All were destroyed, and agents have no leads on a suspect or suspects who may have planted them. Under Delaware law, growing marijuana is a felony.
