Fish Hawk Paddling Festival Returns to Delaware State Parks

LEWES, Del. - Delaware State Parks, Quest Fitness and Kayak, and Coastal Kayak will partner to present the Second Fish Hawk Paddling Festival, Sept. 5 through 7. The weekend-long event will showcase Delaware’s abundant paddling resources with a three-day festival filled with unique guided paddling excursions lead by professional guides.

Workshops and a Demo Day are offered on Saturday at Cape Henlopen State Park, and registrants can choose tours throughout the weekend that originate at Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore, Killens Pond and Trap Pond State Parks in Delaware, and Tuckahoe State Park in Maryland.

Paddlers can explore beautiful waterways, kayak with dolphins, canoe scenic swamps, catch a sunset from the water or try fishing from a kayak. This is a perfect opportunity for visitors to improve skills or get their feet wet for the first time. Paddling races, fun events, and the latest gear and gadgets are featured during the Saturday Demo Day. Participants can bring their own boat or rent one.

Demo Day will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. For tour and workshop information, or to register, call (302) 645-6852, or visit www.destateparks.com/paddling.
