A high-speed chase ensued the evening of April 19 after Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents attempted to stop a vehicle in reference to a trespassing report at the state boat ramp in Woodland Beach.

The vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed, heading west on Route 6, with agents in pursuit and requesting backup from the Delaware State Police. As the vehicle approached Hay Point Landing Road, the driver lost control and it struck a telephone pole. The driver and a passenger were treated at the scene by emergency medical services, with no injuries reported.

The driver, Kenneth W. Jason, age 26, of 1061 South Little Creek Road, Dover, was arrested and faces 13 charges: possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, disregarding a police officer’s signal, reckless endangering, resisting arrest, failure to use turn signals, unreasonable speed, driving on the wrong side of the road, improper lane change, failure to yield right of way, aggressive driving and driving with a revoked license.

The case is pending in Superior Court.
