Fish and Wildlife Enforcement  arrests four for OUI over holiday weekend

During Labor Day weekend, DNREC Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Agents made four arrests on Sept. 5 for operating watercraft under the influence.

New Castle County, C&D Canal

  • John J. Vari Jr., age 48, of 2 Pear Todd Estates, Newark, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence (OUI).
  • Eric Unterreiner, age 37, of 217 North Main Street, St. Georges, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence (OUI).

Sussex County

  • Pablo F. Koe-Krompecher, age 26, of 246 East 46th Street, New York, N.Y., was stopped on the Rehoboth-Lewes Canal. He was arrested and charged with OUI and no boating education certificate.
  • Keith Hershner, age 54, of 9 Terrace Heights, Glen Rock, Pa., was stopped in the area of Pot Nets – Indian River. He was arrested and charged with OUI and a life jacket violation.

All four men were released pending trial.
