in Operation Dry Water, including two for BUI
This past weekend, June 25-28, Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents participated in Operation Dry Water, a national multi-state coordinated initiative aimed at reducing the number of alcohol-related boating accidents and fatalities and fostering a stronger and more visible deterrent to alcohol use on the water.
On patrol on the C&D Canal, Assawoman Bay and Rehoboth Bay, agents made a total of 15 arrests, including two for boating under the influence on the C&D Canal. Other citations were for violations related to boat registration, custody, flares, child and adult life jackets and shellfish. Agent also issued 41 warnings for various non-BUI-related issues.
Sixty-five agencies in 47 states and U.S. territories partnered with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and the U.S. Coast Guard to participate in Operation Dry Water.
