Five DNREC satellite offices now centralized at new Dover location
for operational efficiencies and state savings on leased properties

DOVER (Dec. 10, 2015) – The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has consolidated five leased satellite offices in Kent County into a more centrally-located campus in downtown Dover that will house more than 100 staff members and part-time employees. Google map of new DNREC offices at 100 West Water Street, Dover, DE 19901

DNREC’s Division of Air Quality, Division of Energy & Climate, Division of Watershed Stewardship’s Watershed Assessment Section and Nonpoint Source program, and Delaware Coastal Programs all completed the move this week into a new location at 100 W. Water Street in Dover

“While this move will result in savings in office rent, we’re also looking forward to the efficiencies and productivity that come with putting people and programs together in a common workspace,” said DNREC Secretary David Small. “The complex challenges that we face today demand creative, comprehensive and collaborative approaches that this new environment will help nurture.”

Through the consolidation, DNREC also has reduced its leased footprint of the agency’s Dover office space by almost 20 percent (or nearly 5,000 square feet), while creating a centralized and walkable campus near the agency’s headquarters located in the Richardson & Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

DNREC worked with the City of Dover in facilitating completion of the office complex and expediting the relocation of DNREC staff who now occupy it. Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen also supported timely completion of the project as beneficial to the continuing revival of downtown Dover.

The new DNREC campus is also known as State Street Commons as it faces South State Street, but can only be accessed via the 100 W. Water Street entrance. The address for GPS is 100 W. Water Street, Dover, DE 19904, and parking is available in the rear of building. Business hours at State Street Commons are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

DNREC’s main administrative offices remain located at the Richardson & Robbins Building at 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

The State Street Commons complex now occupied by DNREC staff is owned by the Onix Group of Kennett Square, Pa.
