                               Governor’s Energy Advisory Council Seeks Public Input on
                                        Delaware’s New Energy Plan Recommendations
                                                     Input Sessions March 4, 5 and 9

The Governor’s Energy Advisory Council encourages citizens to attend a public input session on the Delaware Energy Plan Executive Summary of Recommendations.  Three sessions, one in each county, will be held for Delawareans to provide comments on the new Delaware Energy Plan recommendations that were developed by the Council over the past several months.  

Public Input Session: Sussex County
5 – 7 p.m., Monday, March 2
DNREC, Lewes Field Facility, 901 Pilottown Road, Lewes
RESCHEDULED: Monday, March 9. Same time and place.

Public Input Session: Kent County
5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 4
DNREC, Richardson & Robbins Auditorium, 89 Kings Highway, Dover

Public Input Session: New Castle County
5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, March 5

The Executive Summary of Recommendations, background information, and directions to the session locations can be accessed at www.dnrec.delaware.gov or www.energy.dnrec.delaware.gov.

Written comments will also be accepted and must be submitted by 4:30 p.m., March 12 by email to DNREC_EnergyPlan@state.de.us.

The Governor’s Energy Advisory Council has been tasked with updating Delaware’s Energy Plan. The guiding principles for this effort include:

• Increasing energy and end-use efficiency and conservation
• Reducing the environmental impacts of energy used and generated in Delaware
• Reducing energy used for transportation
• Maximizing clean energy economic development opportunities
• Maintaining and improving the reliability and security of Delaware’s energy systems
• Minimizing energy-related costs and impacts to Delaware citizens
