                                          Hearing Set for Dec. 3 on the Premcor Application of a
                              Subaqueous Permit for the Valero Refinery in Delaware City

DNREC’s Division of Water Resources will hold a public hearing 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3 on the Premcor Refining Group, Inc. application for a subaqueous permit for construction at Pier I at the Valero Refinery in Delaware City. The hearing will be held in the DNREC auditorium, Richardson and Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover.

Premcor Refining Group, Inc. (Premcor), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Valero Energy Corp., owns and operates the Valero refinery, 4550 Wrangle Hill Road, Delaware City.

The permit application includes the request to install five additional piles on the Pier 1 main loading platform; to remove an existing 58 foot by 37 foot breasting dolphin (a concrete platform) and 80 feet walkway; and to construct a 36 foot by 36 foot breasting dolphin with 24 piles and a 4 foot by 70 foot walkway in the Delaware River at the refinery.

The application and supporting documents can be inspected 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, at DNREC, Division of Water Resources, Wetlands and Subaqueous Lands Section, 89 Kings Highway, Dover.

Comments can be presented orally or in writing at the public hearing. Written comments will also be accepted until 4:30 p.m., Dec. 3 at DNREC, Division of Water Resources, Wetlands and Subaqueous Lands Section, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901, Attn: Denise Rawding.
