Hearing Set for March 31 on Coastal Zone Permit Application
for Oceanport LLC of Claymont
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a public hearing 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 on the Delaware Coastal Zone Act permit application for Oceanport LLC of Claymont. The hearing will be held at DNREC’s offices, 391 Lukens Drive, New Castle.
Oceanport LLC, located at 6200 Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, is a privately owned and operated deepwater marine terminal located on the Delaware River. The company is seeking a Coastal Zone Act permit to mix lime with water that will produce a calcium chloride solution. According to their application, no negative environmental impacts should result from this project.
The permit application can be inspected at DNREC offices at 89 Kings Highway, Dover; the Air Quality Management Offices, 715 Grantham Lane, New Castle; and at three public libraries: the Hockessin Public Library, 1023 Valley Road, Hockessin; Delaware City Library, 250 Fifth St., Delaware City; and the Wilmington Public Library, 10th & Market St., Wilmington.
