Hounds and History Walk set for Aug. 25 at Fort DuPont

DELAWARE CITY (Aug. 23, 2013) – The interpretive staff at Fort DuPont State Park invites the public to enjoy a special walk along with their good-natured canine companions. The walk, scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, includes a discussion of historic uses of the many buildings as well as plans for their future adaptive reuse.

Human participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bug spray is recommended. Canine friends should play well with others, have proof of all necessary shots, and be on a leash.

The program meets at the gate to the Fort DuPont fishing point, located on Wilmington Avenue. There is no charge for the program.

Reservations are not necessary, and visitors may obtain specific directions by calling the Fort Delaware State Park office at 302-834-7941. In the event of rain, call 302-256-6321 to learn if the program is rescheduled.
