HunterExam.com Now an Option to Meet
Delaware’s Hunter Education Requirements

The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Hunter Education announced today that it has approved courses offered on HunterExam.com as an option for Delawareans needing a hunter education course. Delaware law requires all persons born after Jan. 1, 1967 to satisfactorily complete a hunter education course before obtaining a Delaware hunting license.

The Division worked with HunterExam.com to help develop this new online program, and Delaware is the first state to make the completed courses available to the public, noted Delaware Hunter Education Coordinator Bill Dugent. “We are very proud to have been part of creating this program, which will benefit hunters across the country, and we are very excited to offer this convenient and effective new option to Delaware hunters,” Dugent said.

HunterExam.com uses state of the art internet technology to prepare future hunters before they go afield. While live courses in Delaware will continue as before, Hunterexam.com will offer another possibility for students who prefer the convenience of online learning to traditional classroom sessions. An actual hands-on field day of training will remain a requirement for all students.

With an emphasis on safety, the HunterExam.com program focuses on reducing hunting accidents through coursework presented in a modern, narrative fashion with more than 300 informative graphics, user friendly animations and video clips followed by review questions and discussion points. Students also have access to HunterExam.com’s industry exclusive toll-free customer service help line from 9 a.m. to midnight, EST, seven days a week, as well as its online live chat customer service feature.

In addition, HunterExam.com incorporates the only version of a treestand safety course currently approved by the Treestand Manufacturers Association. This new, fully interactive, narrative course effectively engages students and is only 15 minutes long. The entire course is free to anyone with an Internet connection and can be accessed at www.hunterexam.com/usa/delaware.

“We commend Delaware for being the first state to roll out HunterExam.com as a hunter education tool,” said Kerry Moher, vice president of HunterExam.com. “Delaware has been instrumental in reviewing the course and helping us refine it to meet the needs of today’s students.”

HunterExam.com is produced by the same company that created BoaterExam.com, an online course that has been approved by DNREC for several years to meet Delaware’s boater education requirements. As with BoaterExam.com, hunters can take the hunter safety course and test online free of charge, but there is a fee for written proof of completion needed to obtain a Delaware hunting license. The vendor fee is $24.95, and a voucher to admit hunters to a free Division of Fish and Wildlife field training session to complete course requirements is included.
