Join Delaware Ghost Hunters, Inc. at Fort Delaware State Park
in October for new “Pea Patch Paranormal Adventure”

DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation will host a new series of recreational paranormal investigations at Fort Delaware State Park on weekends in October. In partnership with Delaware Ghost Hunters, Inc., the program will offer small groups of participants the chance to see and experience a fun and spooky paranormal investigation conducted by Delaware Ghost Hunters, Inc.

Areas of the Pea Patch Island’s Civil War fortress to be investigated will include the fort’s prisoner barracks, mess hall, officer’s kitchen, ordnance room area and the west end of the Endicott section. Each evening program will begin with an introductory storytelling at a fire circle, after which groups of 15 will be led by a park interpreter to the various “haunted” sites. At each area, an investigator will use EMFs, data recorders and temperature sensors to investigate the site. Participants are also welcome to bring portable recording equipment of their own (as long as it is easy to transport).

A staging area will feature hot foods and beverages, t-shirts and other commemorative items for sale.

The three-hour investigations (including boat travel time to the fort) are available by reservation only. The cost per participant is $40. Dates are: October 2 and 3; 9 and 10; 16 and 17; 23 and 24.

Just added!  Join Delaware Ghost Hunters on October 30 and 31 for an extended, six-hour paranormal investigation featuring smaller group sizes. The cost per participant is $150.

Because these tours may be too intense for younger children, all participants must be 12 years of age or older. There will be no exceptions to the age limit.

To reserve a spot, call 302-834-7941, or visit: www.destateparks.com.

NOTE: Fort Delaware’s regular season sends September 6. There are no public programs at the fort in September
