for cover crop cost-share assistance June 2-Aug. 8
DOVER (May 21, 2014) – The Kent and Sussex Conservation Districts will be accepting applications for cost-sharing assistance on cover crops and other conservation practices beginning Monday, June 2, through Friday, August 8. The hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. This is the only sign-up period for this program and it will not be extended. All applications will be ranked based on need and funding availability.
Eligible conservation practices include cover crops, manure storage structures, poultry composters, heavy-use area protections, poultry windbreaks, agricultural waste systems, wildlife habitat ponds, water management, and more. The Sussex Conservation District will also accept applications for tax ditch maintenance, tax ditch mowing, and tax ditch weed-wiper bar.
