Killens Pond Fall Festival Cancelled; Park Still Has Plenty More Fall Fun in Store
Felton, Del. – With wind and rain predicted throughout the weekend, the staff at Killens Pond State Park has elected to cancel its annual Fall Festival originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27. However, staff is encouraging the public to visit the park for other fun fall programs they have to offer.
Pumpkins Galore! programs are held on Oct. 4, 11 and 18. These day-long events feature harvest hayrides, pumpkin carving, face painting and warm apple cider. Visitors may purchase pumpkins to take home. The public is welcome to stop in any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Sports Complex Area. Admission is $6, and each participant gets a pumpkin to carve.
Killens Pond State Park is centrally located in the heart of Kent County, Delaware. Only about a 1½ hour drive from either the northern or southern boundary, Killens Pond makes a perfect home base for exploring the First State. Open year-round, the park's campground and cozy cabins are popular retreats no matter what the season.
