Killens Pond Water Park to offer swim lessons and Water Park birthday parties
The staff of Killens Pond Water Park, located in Killens Pond State Park in Felton has announced that swim lessons and Water Park birthday parties are available this summer. The swim lessons will be offered in a four-week session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 6 through July 29 with two make-up classes scheduled for Aug. 3 and 5. There are no make-up classes scheduled after those dates. Classes are for children ages 4 to 11 years old. Each class begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 6:45 p.m.
The swim lessons focus on providing a positive water experience and children will learn bobbing, rhythmic breathing and floating. Advanced swimmers will learn the front crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke. Maximum registration for swim classes is 40 children. Registration and payment may be made in person at the Killens Pond Park Office beginning Monday, May 3. The fee for lessons is $45 per child. Payment in full is due at registration.
Also beginning May 3, parents may now schedule Water Park birthday parties for their children. Available times are noon until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, beginning June 13 until Aug. 19. Fees are based upon number of guests from 10 to 50, and include water park entrance, a pass for a future Water Park visit for each child, private party area and meal for each guest. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Fees and reservation information are available by calling the Park Office at 302-284-4526.
