Killens Pond camp sends summer off with fun activities
FELTON – The staff at Killens Pond State Park has the perfect remedy for parents who don’t want the summer to end without their children enjoying all the things that summer day camp can mean. In the Summer Send Off Camp, Aug. 10 through 14, seven to 10-year-olds will go kayaking, hiking, fishing, visit the exciting Killens Pond Water Park, enjoy fun nature activities and much more.
“This camp takes all of the best things our camps offer and rolls them into one week of fun to end the summer. Children will meet new friends and get outdoors to learn all about the natural world around them,” said Park Naturalist Breanne Preisen.
To ensure the maximum enjoyment for every child, camps sizes are small, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Information and registration packets are available at www.destateparks.com, or by calling the nature center at 302-284-4299. Camp begins each day at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. with before-and after-care available. Camp costs $150 per camper.
Killens Pond State Park is centrally located in the heart of Kent County. The park's centerpiece is the 66-acre millpond which features boating and fishing. Its location makes Killens Pond makes a perfect home base for exploring the First State. The Killens Pond Water Park offers resort entertainment in a serene, natural setting. Open year-round, the park's campground and cozy cabins are popular retreats no matter what the season.
